Product Review: Kidsme - First Step to Self-Feeding

by - Thursday, May 29, 2014

Ever since Small J has started on solid food, I have been wanting him to self-feed. However, the mess he creates makes me go bonkers and so self-feeding is a no no now. It is fortunate that he loves his food, so feeding him is a breeze.

A few weeks ago, I was invited to an event by Totsworld to know more about its Kidsme range of products.

The Kidsme Food Feeder is an award-winning food feeder that allows the little ones to safely and independently explore new tastes and textures as early as 4 months old without the risk of choking. It encourages the child to self-feed and learn how to chew.

  • Chewing allows your body to break down the food into smaller particles which is makes it easier for digestion.
  • Chewing also stimulates saliva production, which contains (digestive) enzymes which helps to break down fats and starches. Helps digestions and better nutrients absorption.
  • Chewing is important for speech development. The actions of mouth, lips, tongue, cheeks and jaw when they chew, are the same motor skills which works on the same muscles which is needed for speech development.

The food feeder is very easy to use. Simply open it, pop in the food, close it and leave it to your child. The food sac is made of silicone, which means that you can sterilise it and also easy to wash. It also comes with a cap which makes the whole food preparation more hygienic.

Small J prefers to pose and play with the food feeder and so I gave it to Big J to try. Notice that the chunks of food that comes out of the holes when there is proper chewing? This encourages the child to chew properly or else he will have nothing to eat.

I love this scissors because it is so versatile and is great when we are outdoor. I can bring steamed pieces of potatoes, pumpkin, fish or meat and mesh or cut them up when it is time for Small J's meal. This is a must have in the diaper bag.

Kidsme Icy Moo Moo Soother

The Kidsme Icy Moo Moo Soother is a great teether. This is especially useful when babies are undergoing the teething stage. Its medical-grade, textured silicone is safe, soft and provides relief to soothe baby's sore gums.

You can also make an ice lolly by pouring your baby's favourite drink or puree into the cap, freeze it and let your baby enjoy.

I like that it comes with a cap so you can simply put on the cover when the soother is not in use.

Kidsme PPSU Diamond Wide Neck Milk bottle

How about giving your little one his/her first diamond? The Kidsme PPSU Diamond Wide Neck Milk Bottle is made of PPSU material which is durable, safe, lightweight and highly heat tolerant, making it perfect for repeated bottle sterilisation. Most importantly, it is BPA free. The handle is removable.

Its unique diamond design adds a dash of style to feeding.
