It aims to encourage and help young children become physically more competent while appreciating quality intellectual information surrounding the theme they are learning.

Children will be engaged in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and hands on activities in Sparkanauts. On the last day of the camp, children will go on an excursion to the Philatelic Museum or the River Safari to further enhance their learning experiences.

What To Expect:
Learning comes alive as the children explore the themes through different mathematical and science concepts. Children will receive a camp booklet detailing the learning objectives and activities for the week. My Cooking Journey #17: Cheesy Meaty Sandwich

Monday, 27 April 2015

Recently, I am into presenting lunch like bento style for Big J. This actually entices him to eat more and ensuring that he eats a little bit of each group of food.

This is one of the bento lunch I made during one of the weekday after school. Of course, my bento making skill needs lots of improvements. I am not a creative person so my bentos are usually very boring and simple.

This includes biscuits, grapes and a sandwich. Big J don't really like to eat meat and I thought of hiding the meat into the sandwich. He finished all!

Cheesy Meaty Sandwich

Bread
Tomato sauce
Minced meat
Cheese

1. Spread tomato sauce onto the bread.
2. Place minced meat onto the bread. I use marinated minced meat.
3. Cover the bread with a slice of cheese. For extra cheesy, you can add pizza cheese which is available in the supermarket.
4. Put into oven and toast it till cheese browns.

This is also great for breakfast or afternoon snack.

A Night of Magic at Raffles

Friday, 24 April 2015

We were super excited to get invited to 'A Night of Magic At Raffles'. I can't remember myself watching any magic shows apart from those shown on TV and YouTube. This one is live! Hubby and I also treasured the opportunity to have our little couple date because, due to the age limit, the boys were not able to come with us.

Following the success of Incanto in 2013 and A Night of Magic at Raffles in 2014, renowned magic master Joe Labero returns in 2015 with another installation of A Night of Magic at Raffles. This time, the show, which will be held until 3 May 2015, is assisted by the hottest guest performers and fire artistes – Burnt Out Punks.

The show started with Joe making people and items appearing and disappearing. There were fire and water and many heart-stopping tricks such as slicing up of people, squeezing through mirror and even trying to escape death within a time limit!

Unlike most magic shows which are performed mainly on the stage, Joe did many close-up tricks. Even though the tricks were so close-up, we couldn't see any loopholes. He also picked a number of audiences to do the tricks together with him or used their personal items as part of his tricks.

Apart from the magical moments, there were also spectacular acrobatic and fire performances by Burnt Out Punks.

Both hubby and I were kept in suspense throughout the whole show. It was very nice, very exciting and very magical! When we reached home, we went to YouTube trying to find out the tricks of some of the magic stunts.

The show is coming to an end on the 3 May 2015, which means you only have one more week left to catch the magical show.

A Day at Sentosa

Tuesday, 21 April 2015

Do you have a favourite place that you and your family like to go? One of our favourites is Sentosa. We have been there so many times. You can read more about our previous Sentosa adventures here.

I happened to win tickets to the new Images of Singapore Live and off we go to Sentosa again. We wanted to go to the beach too, but the weather recently is too super hot!

We arrived at Images of Singapore and took some photos. No photography inside the exhibit though.

After the tour, we took a bus back to RWS for our lunch, followed by a short walk around the area. This photo was taken at the Universal Studios globe, but it got cropped off because the sun is really too bright and we can't see what was on the phone's screen while taking the photo. At least we were all captured on screen.

Then, we hopped on to the Sentosa Express to Beach Station. We had planned to go to the Skyline Luge but the sun is really too hot, so we decided to take the beach tram and explore the beach first. After one round on the tram, we alighted at the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia.

Small J laughing happily as we climbed up the viewing tower. Daddy was playing peekaboo with him.
#FrisoMoment

Selfie time! Notice how glaring and strong the sun was?

Next, we proceed to the Skyline Luge. The last time we came, hubby and I had to go up the Skyride individually because Small J was not tall enough to ride and one of us had to remain behind to look after him. This time, he is finally tall enough to join us on the ride! I'm not sure if it is the power of us united as a family that I am not so scared of the height this time. They gave me strength!

It's time to put on our helmets and go down the hill on the luge! Hubby rode together with Small J while I rode with Big J. It was a really exciting ride as we raced each other down the hill. I'm glad neither of the boys were scared of the speed and height.

After the exciting ride, we proceeded back to mainland Singapore for dinner and back to our home sweet home.

I love to take photos of our outings because I want to freeze these memories. Back at home, we will show the boys the photos and we talk about where we went, what we do and what we learnt. After numerous photo-takings and selfies, the boys are getting better at posing and staying still for a second more for that precious photo. Whenever we look back at the photos, they always bring back lots of treasured memories.

Do you capture your family moments on photos too? Now you can share these #FrisoMoments and get to win attractive prizes!

For Beloved One, Red Wine Antioxidant Night Jelly

Monday, 20 April 2015

[Product Review]

I'm taking some time-off from my parenting duty to share this beauty product review with you. Mother's Day is coming soon and it is time to do some pampering for myself.

I'm so glad when I get a bottle of For Beloved One Red Wine Antioxidant Night Jelly for this review. I have once gotten a small bottle for sample and I really love it! Just one use and I am able to feel the difference the next day.

I have to admit that I do not take very good care of my skin. Since young, I do not have much problems with my skin - no pimples, no wrinkles, no acne. Everything was good, until I got pregnant. Due to hormonal changes, my skin became dull, dry and with uneven skin tone. Blemishes appeared like they are free. I was really upset about this, and still am now.

With motherhood, I do not have much time to do much skin care. Most of the time, I will remove my make-up with a make-up remover, rinse off and that's it. It's only on some days that I remember to pat on some toner and moisturiser before I sleep. No wonder, my skin condition is getting worse.

So what are the benefits of For Beloved One Red Wine Antioxidant Night Jelly? How does this help my skin problems of dry skin, uneven skin tone and dullness?

Red Wine Polyphenols - Powerful antioxidant, smooths wrinkles, restores skin suppleness and elasticity.

Prodizia - Accelerates metabolism, firms and moisturises skin.

Vitis vinifera(Grape) Seed Extract - Maintains skin’s firmness and elasticity, strengthens skin’s immunity, brightens and even skin tone.

Lactobacillus Ferment - Inhibits the formation of deep black pigment while promoting the formation of yellow-orange pigment, thus achieving brighter, more even skin tone.

Phytessence Kudzu - Protects and prevents the weakening of collagen and elastin, maintains cell activity to keep skin looking youthful.

Chronodyn - Defends skin against environmental irritants, strengthens cell’s natural repair ability and helps fight against signs of fatigue and firms skin.

The night jelly has a gel-like texture. It has a faint red wine scent and I love this. It sort of helps me to relax while smelling it during application.

It comes with a spatula so that your fingers will not come in contact with the jelly in the bottle and thus contaminating the remaining jelly.

After my normal skin care routine, ie toner and moisturiser, I will apply the night jelly and massage it into my skin. The gel is quickly absorbed into the skin and doesn't leave any sticky feeling. I will usually do a fast scrolling on my Facebook while waiting for it to be fully absorbed into the skin. Then I will sleep and let the night jelly works its magic through the night.

In the morning, I feel that my skin is indeed brighter and feels more moisturised. There seems to be a light glow on the face too.

For Beloved One Red Wine Antioxidant Night Jelly is retailing at $78 for a 50ml bottle, exclusively at Sephora

My mother-in-law has given me a big abalone mushroom. She told me that this is very nice and very simple to eat. Just slice and boil it and you will have a very nice dish. No money for abalone? Abalone mushroom does the trick!

Our #FrisoMoment - Friso Experience More Together

Tuesday, 14 April 2015

We love weekends, especially long weekends. This year, there are 7 long weekends on the calendar! Yippee! Weekends are very precious to us as these are the days that Daddy J is not working and the four of us are able to spend quality time together as a family.

We try to include outdoor activities as much as possible. I see outdoor play as an important part of the boys' development. It helps them to wear off their excess energy, breathe in fresh air and get lots of gross motor training. One of our routine activities as a family, is going for outdoor play in our neighbourhood.

The boys favourite hangout is the playground. Though this is a simple outdoor activity, it gives us lots of cherished memories. The boys started out not knowing how to climb up the play structure, now they can run and jump independently. As parents, we started by being protective of them, worrying that they will fall and always ready to catch them anytime. Now, we can simply stand or sit by the side, knowing that they can play with confidence. How much they have grown!

We always bring along a bottle of bubbles too. When we say it's bubbles time, the boys will get very excited. Big J can now blow the bubbles too. It is a joy for us to see the boys chasing and popping bubbles happily.

Another favourite activity is playing ball. From just throwing the ball around randomly, to being able to kick the ball to each other now and have a little game of passing the ball, we are so glad to be growing together with the boys. Do you know that kicking a ball is a developmental milestone for the child?

We laugh, we play and we grow together. These are our #FrisoMoment! What's yours?

Drypers Drynights - Giving Me Sweet Dreams

Friday, 10 April 2015

Hello! I'm here to take over Mommy's blog again. Today, I want to show you what I do after my dinner.

I can't feed myself very well yet, so I always make a big mess with food sticking all over me. The best solution? A shower! I love taking showers because I can splash water (all over Mommy)... hehe.

We go into the bedroom and Mommy helps to change me into my pyjamas. I will usually do a little dance on my bed before Mommy shouts 'Come and wear your diaper.'

I try to stay as still as possible when Mommy puts on the diaper for me. As soon as she's done, I'm off playing again. That few minutes before bedtime is very precious, ya know?

Ok, I want to quickly say this before Mommy catches me for bed.

The diaper that I'm wearing at night is Drypers Drynights. This is the latest range of products from Drypers, which is specially created for night use. It provides up to 12 hours of dry comfort ensuring that I can enjoy my sweet dreams from night to morning! Its absorption core is longer than the diapers I had been using previously, hence ensuring maximum absorbency throughout the night.

Yawns, I really need to sleep already. Good night and see you in the morning.

I checked Mommy's phone and noticed that she has taken photos of me sleeping. I am amazed by how much I can move around without myself knowing it. See my stunts!

You know what? Despite me moving around so much, my pants are still dry. This wasn't the case before I started using Drynights. I would sometimes wake up to a wet pants because the diaper leaked! Yikes.. and it felt so uncomfortable that I had to wake up and announce to Mommy about it. Poor Mommy, she had to drag herself up to help me changed out of the diaper, wet pants and the bed sheet too.

Drynights comes with leak guards that gently hug around my legs to prevent leakages from the sides. The longer absorption core means there is a larger surface area to provide more protection against leakages from both the back and the front. Now, I can turn whichever way I like and don't have to worry about leakages. Both Mommy and I can enjoy our sweet dreams and sleep through to the morning.

Good morning! I am up and awake to go to my grandma's place. It has been about 11 hours since I last put on my Drynights but I still don't feel uncomfortable. Previously, my diaper would be so full that it can burst anytime. Mommy would have no choice but to change a new diaper for me or else I won't sit in my stroller as it was so uncomfortable.

The super absorbency of Drynights is able to absorb more urine and helps to keep me dry and comfortable. Mommy can save 5 minutes of her time for not having to change a new diaper for me. She is so happy because that means one task off her hectic morning routine. Grandma will change me out of this during shower time at her place later.

This is how the packaging of Drynights looks like. You can get it at all major super and hypermarkets such as Fairprice, Sheng Siong and Giant. See the stars and moon graphic on the diaper? So cute right?

Tempted to try this out? You can request for samples at Drypers Singapore Facebook Page. For more information, check out Drypers Singapore Website.

A Day In My Life

I last wrote about a Day In My Life in Oct 2012. That was a long time ago! Back then, I was still working and only had Big J who was about 18 months old. Fast forward to today, I'm now a full time mother and Small J has come into our life too. Our day has certainly become more busy but definitely with more joy!

Without further ado, let me show you how my day goes on this particular day.

My day is supposed to start at 6.30 but I woke up late! I quickly take my shower and prep myself first. Then, it is preparing breakfast and waking the kids up. I have to keep hurrying Big J to finish his breakfast or else we will be late. Small J has his bottle of milk which he finishes very fast. I give them a quick wipe down and change them out of their PJs. When we are all done, I put Small J onto the stroller and ask Big J to put on his shoes. I grab our bags and we are out! Because mornings are so hectic, I will pack their bags, choose their clothes and fill the bottles the night before.

We are waiting for the train to go to school. It's the morning rush hour and having to push a stroller into the packed train is a big challenge for me. It is lucky that we are getting off in a few stops.

We make it to school and Big J goes to school while Small J plays at the playground. After playing for about half an hour, we make our way to the supermarket to get some stuffs to cook for lunch or other necessary household stuffs.

After getting what we need, we are back at school to pick up Big J. The first thing he does is to rush to the playground to play. The brothers play for a bit while I relax on the bench.

I have to shout and coax them to leave the playground and make our way home. I love taking the train at this timing because it is so empty!

We reach home and I start to prepare lunch. The boys will be playing by themselves. Lunch is usually something simple and quick. Today we are having pasta soup chinese style.

Boys eating their lunch and I quickly gobble down mine too. After we are done, it's shower time for them. They continue to play / fight / shout / run while I wash up the dishes and clean the table.

The time now is 1pm and it is nap time! This is the part of the day which I really look forward to. Finally some peace and quiet moment in the house.

4pm! Oops! I totally knock out with the boys and there goes the golden period to do many things. When I woke up its already almost 4!! Usually if I didn't fall asleep, I will be doing housework or preparing ingredients for dinner or blogging or FB-ing and IG-ing.

The boys wake up too. We are going for a movie date tonight and we have to start preparing for our outing later. I give the boys their snack and while they are enjoying eating, I quickly had my shower and put on some light makeup (it has been quite a while since I last put on makeup). They finish eating and I wash up the plates and cups. Next is packing the bag and getting the boys changed and ready before we head out.

On our way to The Cathay for the premier of Home! It is a long ride and I have to try all ways to entertain Small J. Big J is happy to look at the scenery outside the train. Selfie time!

We reach Dhoby Ghaut and wait for hubby to join us after his work. While waiting, we grab something to eat. Daddy reached and we went to collect the tickets. The first time when Big J saw the poster of Home, he was very curious and keep asking me who is the purple character. I did some google-ing and told him it's 'Oh'. He will ask the same question everytime we see the poster. So he is really excited to get to watch the show. This is also our first time watching a movie together as a family!

After the movie ends, we took a cab home. The boys did not too bad at the movie. This is the second movie for Big J and the first for Small J. The only disappointing part is that the show is in 3D and both of them couldn't wear the 3D-glasses properly to watch the show. They both start to fidget towards the end of the show. However, hubby and me really enjoyed the show.

We reach home and get the boys ready for bed. I accompany them to sleep while trying very hard to keep myself awake. When they have fallen asleep, I sneak out of the room. It is now about 10.30pm. I pack our bags for tomorrow and get ready their clothes and bottles and whatever we need for tomorrow.

After this, I sit down in front of my computer and finish up some blog posts and check emails.

At about 12ish, I wake Big J up for toilet. We are in the process of training him to go diaper free at night. If we don't wake him up, he will wet the bed and we will have lots of clean ups to do.

Before I fall asleep, I will do a quick run-down in my mind as to what we need to do tomorrow. I switch my phone to airplane mode and I sleep too. I usually will fall asleep within 5 minutes of hitting the pillow. Good night world!

March

Wednesday, 8 April 2015

March was a sombre month for those who are in Singapore. We have lost one of our most important founding father, Mr Lee Kwan Yew. A week of mourning was announced for his passing and we join in together with the nation to remember his contributions to Singapore.

We went to the Parliament House wanting to pay our tribute but the queue for priority queue was as long as a 7 hours wait. It was already late at night and the boys were tired so we had no choice but to turn back. The next day, we went to pay our tribute at the community tribute centre. #RememberingLKY

March for us, is not all sad. In fact, we have two birthdays in our family. Firstly, it's Big J turning 4! My first boy has grown so fast. I know I have said this many many times but I still have to say this. Time slow down please!

Just a few days ago, we were out and came across this playground in the shopping centre. He was playing inside while I am standing outside. I remember how it seems like yesterday that I was still following behind him, holding him and ready to catch him anytime should he fall. Now, he seems too big for the playgound among all the little buddies in the playground. I can't help feeling all emotional now.

The other birthday in our family is my Daddy's. See how happy the boys are. It's like it was their own birthday.

Small J had his first pony ride. He was so brave and did not cry for feel scared at all. In fact he was so confident and took it like a breeze!

We went to see the Chingay @ Heartlands. Unfortunately, the sky wasn't well and it started raining. See everyone trying to squeeze for shelter at the bus stop.

The boys are happily blowing the tissue paper to each other. A simple sheet of tissue paper can provide so much fun for the boys. A great entertainment when you are out dining and the kids need to wait. Of course, given the amount of laughter, this can only be played in noisy places such as food court.

In case you have missed, here are some of the highlights from the blog.
