Update to Water Playground March 2016

Whenever we are at IMM for shopping, Big J will request to visit the playground there. This is not surprising because the playground here is so fun.

Treehouse Slide

There are not many playgrounds that has a tree-house slide - Jacob Ballas at Botanic Gardens, Westgate Wonderland and IMM.

This tree house is 7m tall and has two slides. Big J only takes the lower slide as he does not dare to take the taller slide. A downside though, the slides are made of metal and it gets really hot to slide when the sun is shining down on it. Around the slides, there are also structures of fruits, such as bananas, tomatos, carrot and apple. These are easy for small children to climb and sit on,

Dry Playground

On the other end of the plaza, there is another playground, which has structures suitable for children for different ages. There are many structures for children to slide, climb, crawl, run, glide, jump and balance! This is really an all-rounded playground. Best part? The area is fully sheltered, so even on a hot day, it is still quite comfortable to play.

On one side, the lower structures are suitable for younger children - low steps and short slides.

On the other side of this, there is a steep tunnel and a tall slide. There is also a rock climbing feature behind it. This part of the playground is more suitable for bigger children. Big J loves climbing up and says 'I am so tall!'

For those who need more exercise, there are also glider, balancing beams and hanging bars for the children to wear off their energy.

... and a mini merry-go-round! He loves going round and round on it and I wonder why he doesn't get giddy?

Wet Playground

Update to the Water Playground (March 2016):

IMM playground has been renovated and the water playground has been upgraded. Children can now expect more splashing fun as it is more wet than before. There is also a small playground and slide in the waterplay area too.

Archive June 2015:

Apart from the dry playgrounds, there is a water playground too! There are buckets, water cannons and fountains. The fountains are interactive and this brings waterplay to a higher level. Water playgrounds are always a great relief for us in sunny Singapore. The floor is rubber padded so kids can run around freely. Of course, it would be good if the water playground can come with a bit of shelter. Do note that the water playground is closed for maintenance on the last Tuesday of every month, except public holidays.

After some splashing good time, there is a changing area with shower, where the kids can change out of their wet clothes. This is located at the far end of the Garden Plaza. I personally feel that it will be better if the changing area is just next to the water playground. The condition of the changing area is not mint but still better than non and there's only one each for boys and girls.

Garden Plaza

Apart from all play, kids can learn about fruits and their plants too. Next to the tree house slide, there is this area with many plants of fruits. There are signs for each plant to tell you what plant this is. On some of the plants, we saw fruits growing. Can you guess what fruits are these?

There is a koi fish pond too. The kids can look at the fishes but I am not sure if they are allowed to feed them.

The IMM playground is really suitable for children of all ages. Children can play and learn at the same time. The Garden Plaza has a big open area where kids can run around. We usually go on a weekday because it can get quite crowded on weekends. Furthermore, there are lots of shopping to do at IMM - many outlet stores, Daiso, Giant and a newly opened 海底捞. Parking is free for the first 2 hours too!

  1. Thank you for sharing this on Family Fun Friday! Coincidentally, my sister and parents asked us if we wanted to join them at IMM for lunch today! And my hubby didn't want to go Jurong East AGAIN because we were just there on Fri. Now I see your post and I'm like, Awww... The kids would have had fun with their cousins there!
