Good news for all Swensen's fans!

Our family have always been a fan of Swensen's and we were thankful to be invited for a scrumptious breakfast a few weeks ago. Swensen's has expanded its breakfast menu to include three new dishes.

Salted Egg n Honey Toasties - $6.90

Simply Pancakes - $7.50

We tried the Salted Egg n Honey Toasties, Simply Pancakes, Swensen's Sunrise Omelette and Triple Cheese Toasties.

Our favourite is the Salted Egg n Honey Toasties. It consists of two thick cut Japanese bread grilled golden brown and generously spread with homemade salted egg and honey butter cream. More of the salted egg and honey butter cream are provided on the side so that you can spread more of the cream onto the toast. Believe me, you will finish all the cream in no time because it is so addictive.

I always love salted egg dishes such as salted egg crabs, prawns, chicken, etc. This time, salted egg with toast is something of novelty to me. The taste is a tint of saltiness from the salted egg and sweetness from the butter and honey. I can say that the balance is good that it doesn't make me feel 'jelak' after eating.

The boys' favourite is of course the Simply Pancakes. The vanilla buttermilk pancakes are fluffy and soft and served with homemade honey butter cream and cheesy sausages. I think the honey butter cream, which is smooth and creamy, plays a big part in giving the pancakes more flavour. Big J especially love the honey butter cream and finished all of it!

Apart from the food, the breakfast sets comes with a beverage - coffee or tea for adults and orange or apple juice for kids. You can also choose other choices of drinks when you top-up a bit.

The breakfast menu is available on weekends and Public Holidays from 8am to 11am and is available at all outlets except Bukit Panjang Plaza, City Square Mall, ION and Plaza Singapura outlets. Click here for more information about Swensen's breakfast menu.

It first arrived in Singapore with the opening of a 200-seater restaurant at Thomson Plaza in 1979, and has since won the hearts of many with its warm, unpretentious ambience and a casual atmosphere. Over the years it has developed to become a restaurant chain offering not just ice cream, but fun and friendly casual-dining with a wide selection of hearty food, desserts, beverages, ice cream cakes and takeaway novelties.
